港島草地滾球會 ILBC

球會成立的目的是推廣草地滾球運動，提升運動水平及鼓勵社會各階層人士參與。

「港島東草地滾球會」在2003年10月正式註冊成為社團。球會的成立源於一班「康樂及文化事務署」及「香港草地滾球總會」合辦訓練班學員的熱誠，在畢業後仍然維繫在「港島東體育館」練習及聚會；其後與教練組成的球隊在公開賽得到首個獎項，鼓勵了他們組成球會。球會成立之後陸續有草地滾球愛好者參加，更得到數位傑出成就的球員加入，組成現時規模較為完善的球會。

本會公開賽的主場定在「鴨脷洲體育館」室內草地滾球場，而會內的練習時段、比賽及地區推廣活動，將視乎需求而安排在「鴨脷洲體育館」、「港島東體育館」、「維多利亞公園」、「小瀝源路遊樂場」及「大埔海濱公園」草地滾球場進行。

球會在2004年11月13日將「港島東草地滾球會」改名為「港島草地滾球會」，這個新名字令本會有一個更清晰的身份，就是不單只在港島東區運作，而是在港島一個充滿活力的年輕球會，並不斷努力推廣草地滾球運動，為會員提供完備服務及福利的組織。

The objective of the club is to promote and arouse the interest of the pubic in lawn bowls.

The "Island East Lawn Bowls Club" was officially registered as a Society in October 2003. Formation of the Club stemmed from the zest of a group of students who took part in the training class jointly organized by the Leisure Culture and Sports Department and the “Hong Kong Lawn Bowls Association” in April 2003. After they finished their class, they maintained practising and gathering in the Island East Sports Centre. They were further stimulated after they formed a team with their coach and won their first trophy in an open match in August 2003.

In order to be prepared with sufficient rinks for the League Games in future, IELBC has made the indoor bowling green at Ap Lei Chau Sports Centre as the Home Green. . All practices and district promotional activities will also take place in both Island East Sports Centre, Victoria Park, Ap Lei Chau Sports Centre Siu Lek Yuen Road Playground Bowling Green and Tai Po Water Front Bowling Green.

Island East Lawn Bowls Club (IELBC) has changed its name to Island Lawn Bowls Club (I.L.B.C.) as of 13 November 2004. The new name provides a clearer identity to I.L.B.C. that it is more than a lawn bowls club that exists in the Eastern District but a Hong Kong Island wide organization. I.L.B.C. also represents a dynamic young club that is actively promoting the lawn bowl sport, offering comprehensive services and welfare to its members.
