Entry forms are now
available for the SA Grand Prix Qualifying Series
Bowlers throughout Australia are invited to enter the South
Australian Grand Prix Qualifying Series to be played in Adelaide
6-10 December. The qualifying series comprises of men's and
women's singles and triples events and will be played in
sectional format. Those who perform well in qualifying will go
through to compete in the South Australian Grand Prix in
Adelaide 13-17 December which has a $20 000 prize pool. [read

The Bowls Australia Board has introduced a risk management
policy. This policy which covers risk awareness and management
forms part of the Bowls Australia corporate governance plan.
After reviewing and identifying the areas of risk that are
applicable to the sport (financial and non-financial) the Board
developed and implemented policies, procedures and processes to
ensure these risks are minimised. [read

Coach Robbie Dobbins
has announced his retirement
Robbie Dobbins has announced his retirement from his position as
head coach of the Australian men's and women's teams. Dobbins
who as a player won a Commonwealth Games gold medal in 1982 was
the first national coach appointed by the unified body of Bowls
Australia Inc. After almost 10 years in coaching Dobbins has
decided to take a well deserved break from his national coaching
commitments after a successful 2 years in the position. [read

Bowls Australia recently welcomed two new employees - Grant Weir
and Alison Garner. Grant, a former Olympian who represented
Australia in Baseball at 1998 Seoul Olympics has joined the team
in the role of Participation & Development Manager. [read

Social bowlers are
getting on the green with night owls
Bowls Australia and Bowls SA have joined together to introduce
the Get on the Green with Night Owls' initiative throughout
South Australia. Get on the Green is a national participation
program funded by Bowls Australia and the Australian Sports
Commission to assist clubs and associations to raise the level
of awareness of bowls to the general public and to encourage new
members to get on the green' with their local bowls club. [read

received an impressive number of entries from its "Win a World
Bowls Shirt" competition with 150 entries received from
subscribers to the electronic version of High on Bowls through
out Australia. The winner, Mr Diamond, from Wollongong, NSW has
won a signed Australian team shirt from World Bowls. [read
